Quantum dynamics

 At low temperatures, atoms possess properties similar to those of photons in optics and electrons in solids. Using these analogies, the Atomic Optics group manipulates ultra-cold quantum gases to study fundamental problems of quantum atomic optics, N-body physics and non-equilibrium dynamics in correlated quantum systems.
In this framework the group consists of several teams of experimenters and a group of theorists. These work on both optical aspects and aspects related to condensed matter. The team is interested in the relaxation dynamics of ultra-low atoms out of equilibrium by quantum gas microscope.
