Condensed matter, quantum simulators, theory and numerical methods

The CPHT’s activities in condensed matter physics focus on the physics of highly correlated quantum systems and are structured along three complementary themes: i) the development of analytical and numerical methods to study these systems; (Ii) the electronic structure of materials such as  metal transition oxides and rare earth compounds related to their remarkable electronic properties; Iii) the physics of ultra-cold atoms in optical networks. The research themes are:

  • Theory of materials and quantum simulators, cold atoms, interactions, mesoscopic and optical effects, hybrid and open systems.
  • Quantum materials, correlated effects, development of methods and algorithms
  • Materials, ab-initio + DMFT, …
