SPIN-COOLING OF THE MOTION OF A TRAPPED DIAMOND
For the first time, Researcher at the LPENS manage to act on the motion of a mechanical oscillator, a diamond levitating in an electrostatic trap, using the spin of the few billions of NV centers contained in the diamond.

Broad audience talk : William D Phillips, noble prize 1997 10 december 2019, Auditorium de Jussieu

Horizon Impact Award European Commission
This award is the European Commission's initiative to recognise and celebrate outstanding projects that have used their results to provide value for society.

Valentina Parigi, winner of an ERC Consolidator Grant
Valentina Parigi, associate professor at Sorbonne University and a member of the Kastler Brossel Laboratory (LKB) and of SIRTEQ has been awarded a 2018 ERC Consolidator Grant for her COQCOoN project and is one of the 32 French winners of these highly coveted scholarships.

European project CiViQ, selected for the first phase of the Quantum Technology Flagship.
The CiViQ project, in which 4 SIRTEQ teams are involved, aims at developing coherent systems of quantum communication, in particular for the QKD realization.

Ramsey Interferences and Spin Echoes from Electron Spins Inside a Levitating Macroscopic Particle
The group of Gabriel Hétet of SIRTEQ has reported on observations of Ramsey interferences and spin echoes from electron spins inside a levitating macroscopic particle. The experiment is realized using nitrogen-vacancy (NV) centers hosted in a micron-sized diamond stored in a Paul trap both under atmospheric conditions and under vacuum. T. Delord et al. Phys. Rev. Lett. 121, 053602

Ytterbium: the quantum memory of tomorrow
Researchers from IRCP, working closely with UNIGE , have discovered a new material that can be used to store and repeat the quantum signal rapidly – could this be the beginning of a global quantum network?

Synthetic three-dimensional atomic structures assembled atom by atom
The Quantum optics group of SIRTEQ has demontrasted the assembly of defect-free, arbitrarily shaped three-dimensional arrays, containing up to 72 single atoms using holographic methods

Quantum coherence of light emitted by two single-photon sources in complex environment
The team of R Carminati developed a theoretical framework for the analysis of the quantum coherence of light emitted by two single photon sources in a structured environment.

Graphene quantum boxes: new quantum emitters at room temperature
Two group of SIRTEQ JS Lauret's at LAC and Y Chassagneux at LPA's, in collaboration with LICSEN and the Max Planck Institute (Mainz) have shown that it is possible to access to the intrinsic properties of quantum graphene boxes composed of 96 carbon atoms
