Post doc: experimental cold-atoms physics
We announce the opening of one post-doc experimental position in the Quantum Mixtures group at the Istituto Nazionale di Ottica (CNR-INO) and European Laboratory for Nonlinear Spectroscopy in Sesto Fiorentino, Italy (http://quantumgases.lens.unifi.it/exp/krb).
The position is funded through the QT-Flagship project QOMBS (www.qombs-project.eu) and the research topic is quantum correlations in degenerate gases for simulations of quantum cascade frequency combs. The project QOMBS envisions, among other things, to use cold-atom platforms to simulate specific features of the broad class of laser sources, known as “quantum cascade lasers”, emitting in the frequency range 1-100 THz.
The ideal candidate should have a PhD degree in physics, a background in experimental atomic physics, quantum optics and/or quantum information. The selected candidate will develop and realize an array of Bose-Einstein condensates equally spaced in momentum, and investigate the quantum correlations induced by contact interactions.
The term of the appointment is two years. The position will be formally opened in the upcoming weeks, but perspective candidates are invited to contact Dr. Chiara D’Errico (chiara.derrico@ino.cnr.it) and/or Dr. Francesco Minardi (francesco.minardi@ino.cnr.it) at their earliest convenience.
