Post doc: design and build prototype research-led receivers for satellite QKD
A fixed-term post-graduate / post-doctoral position is available until the
end of March 2021 in the Department of Physics, to work in the group of
Professor Tim Spiller, on an Innovate UK- funded project to design and build
prototype research-led receivers for satellite QKD.
Based at the University of York, you will work as part of an industry /
research consortium established to design and build prototype receivers for
use in satellite quantum communications. You will be part of the York team
focusing on development of a receiver for continuous variable communication.
This will include conducting research on and around the interface between the
free-space link, the receiver, and, in particular, the required
post-processing. You will also help write-up and disseminate research
results, coordinate joint publications and further contribute to the
identification of possible new areas of research. You will also participate
in seminar and conference presentations, public engagement and outreach
activities.
The post is full-time, fixed-term until the end of March 2021, and is
available from June 2019 or as soon as possible thereafter.
