Valentina Parigi, associate professor at Sorbonne University and a member of the Kastler Brossel Laboratory (LKB) and of SIRTEQ has been awarded a 2018 ERC Consolidator Grant for her COQCOoN project and is one of the 32 French winners of these highly coveted scholarships.
The CiViQ project, in which 4 SIRTEQ teams are involved, aims at developing coherent systems of quantum communication, in particular for the QKD realization.
The group of Gabriel Hétet of SIRTEQ has reported on observations of Ramsey interferences and spin echoes from electron spins inside a levitating macroscopic particle. The experiment is realized using nitrogen-vacancy (NV) centers hosted in a micron-sized diamond stored in a Paul trap both under atmospheric conditions and under vacuum.
